Ali Moeen Nawazish - This is Pakistan

In the present scenario of Pakistan's many faceted turmoils, it was really a refreshing news. Ali Moeen Nawazish who hails from Rawalpindi, Pakistan has made a record in Guinness Book of World Records. He took a whole bunch of 23 subjects for his A-levels examination and made a world record of passing in all of the 23 subjects. Adding to this, he not only just passed them but actually claimed straight A's in 21 of the subjects, while B and C in other two.Watch his interview to BBC here:

Even earlier in O-levels he had secured 9 A-grades. But he was determined to do even more for himself, his parents and his country. And yes indeed he did. Now he is studying Computer Science at Cambridge although he has achieved a top score in US admission tests and got accepted by most of the Ivy League insitutions, including Harvard and Yale.

This is a slap on the face of word which is trying to build an image of Pakistan otherwise. Pakistan is more than what most of the ignorant people think. Ali Moeen Nawazish has proven that Pakistanis are a resilient nation and they have the highest potential to do the extra-ordinary and even impossible, if one believes in something impossible. There are so many examples from history and in present day scenario too, but unfortunately they are forgotten or never come up to surface. A problem with the present day soceity is that no matter of how high caliber a person or a thing or a happening happens to be, it never catches attention of mass level until it is advertised in media. And sadly our government and our politicians are doing nothing in that. It was their duty to give him a huge amount of prize and other goodies to encourage him but state run TV hasn't said a word about him yet. Its so sad and raging. But this proves one thing, that our younger generation has guts to run the country. We will rock in future INSHA-ALLAH.

Nawazish is really a talented man..and I dont agree with you when you say that world media didnt give any attention to him. I read about him in Dainik bhaskar, Hindustan times and Times of India.
And yes the young generation rocks.

I wasn't talking about the World media. WM IS very much giving him coverage but I was talking about Pakistan's state run PTV... they are yet silent about it.. I dont know why? Geo, Pakistan has even added segment about him...

I won't take this bite. World will talk what is much talked. If you want to change the image, the change should come from within , then the world will lap the new changes. Remember , world media is not your PR agency , they would cover what rouses more rubble whether one like it or not... so its the responsibility of the nation , government and people to change one's nation's image.

Saying this , This guy in the article is real wonder guy ! Kudos to him !

Mr. R
The world media is not suppose to work for a nation or for that matter for us but if they are convering all the bad issues then they must see the good sides as well... they must report both ways... except BBC non of the tv channels in the west has covered this incident... do you think that is ok...?

Kudos to Nawazish for his acheivements which have surely come with lot of toil and hardwork.
The problem with Pakistan is that its leadership (army and piliicians)have articulated the art of keeping its public 'far from truth' nd in make beleive world. It had lead to rise of fundamentalist forces who are ruining the image of pakistan. Apart from Nawazish we have persons like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Umar Sharif, Shakel Ahmed, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Adnan Sami, Ghulan Ali who are adored here in India and am' sure worldwide. So as xpresscoffee said in its earlier comment people of pakistan has to rise from within and no one else can and will do it for them.
I love pakisan and i am an Indian....

This person's personal excellence should be lauded and cited as an example to all the youngsters-pakistani or not. However, he is not representative of a national talent, just the way negative characters should not be held responsible to represent an entire nation.
We wish more such young men and women give more and more reasons to make pakistan proud.
Good that you have highligted it.

Yup.. our country has great potential.

Pity our media didn't give him coverage he so deserved. While we have air time for everything that broaches and supports a negative image of Pakistan and Muslims.

Good that you put it up on your blog. :)
